On horse back

The horse is the ideal partner to discover the Park as it offers nicer views from its height. Discoveries can be made on a horse, a poney or in a horse driven carriage.

In the framework of the Brenne on horseback », the Park offers itineraries from 2 to 7 days, adapted for horse riding with rentals who signed the welcome with your horse quality carta ».
Horse riders can also use all signposted walking paths in which case please be respectful of other users.

 

Be particularly respectful of the Ethical horse riders Carta published by the Fédération Française d'Equitation ( French Equitation Federation).

To best plan your treks, here are some useful tips.

  1. Even If you ride near lakes, most of them are privately owned. Please follow the road book guidelines  when your horses need to drink and don’t use non signposted paths.
  2. Tracks will lead you on discovery trails of Beauregard and Blizon. Watch the pedestrians.
  3. Cross woods without bivouacking or going off the beaten tracks. There are lots of privately owned properties.
  4. The holiday rental owners are expecting you and they will point you to suitable places for your horses.
  5. In some of them, you will find tie bars for your horse, a maximum of 6 horses.

Riders will make sure their horse get on well with others  and find suitable ways of tying them in the right way, finally to ensure that horses that pull back are safely tied away from other horses.

    Carefully choose the season of your treks: avoid riding through the forest massif during the hunting season ( find out from the hunting federation) some rivers can’t be crossed from November to mid March.
  2. Local discovery workshops are available. Warn people in advance
